Why "POWDER" ?

K pour Karité's « POWDER » vegetable hair colour contains additionnal tinctorial plants (in particular indigo). Thanks to these plants, the colour will hold better and last longer. Inside the tinctorial plants, there is a pre-pigmentation agent that penetrates deep inside the hair fibre and, when oxidized, develops into a colour pigment held inside the hair.

Besides, our certified organic formulas are specifically designed for either « cream » or « powder ». We now use a natural Alum powder colour preparation in our « powder » version allows our dyes to hold better and last longer.

A product that respects your hair

The pigments of natural dye do not penetrate into the hair shaft but colour the hair by covering it: the hair gains in volume and it remains healthy! It maintains its strength and radiance. To sum up, 100% natural hair colouring is to hair what wood tint is to wood – it gives a transparent coating to it, by respecting the natural tones of the hair. Whereas chemical hair colouring could be compared to wood paint as it completely colours the hair, giving it a uniform colour without any depth.

A patented ingredient
Natural pigments are noble and sensitive because of their high biodegradability. In order to protect them within our formulae and enable them to maintain their colouring powers, an innovative process has been perfected which includes a patented clay. An eco-consumption manufacturing process – responsible, low-energy: a cold emulsion with low carbon energy which uses up 100 times less energy than a standard emulsion (0.4 kWh consumed in a cold process against 40 kWh in a classic process / 15 min preparation time against 2 hours)

Plants used to embellish
First of all for our hair colouring we were guided by a French botanist who had been established in Burkina for around ten years. We met the wise men of a small village in the middle of the bush on a rocky peak alongside a magnificent waterfall. A protected area surrounded by uncultivated land and an exceptional botanical garden. The Protection of the Forest Organisation had introduced a programme there to protect the medicinal and dye plants used by their ancestors to embellish their attire. On our first meeting, one of the wise men took a piece of stem from an herbaceous plant and then took some earth which he mixed in his hand and reduced it to powder. Before our very eyes, the stream of water which he poured onto the mix turned scarlet. A bright scarlet red came into being in an instant. The Sorghum, manufacturer of bright red, was the first of the plants to enter into our compositions.
